Darkness into Light Carlow 2019

St. Catherine’s Traveller Programme Staff and participants were delighted to support.

This was the sixth time the event took place in Carlow. The walk, which is symbolic of the journey from despair to hope, began in darkness at 4.15am on Saturday 11th  May. Hundreds of people from Carlow and the surrounding areas walked a five-kilometer route around Carlow town, starting out in the darkness and walking into the light of dawn. Funds raised help to keep Pieta House’s counselling services free of charge and freely accessible to those in suicidal crisis, people who engage in self-harm and those bereaved by suicide. This cause is specifically relevant to the Irish Traveller Community and we were all delighted to support this cause.
